Bestech Australia have offered the LVDT series of linear inductive gauging sensors from Micro-Epsilon.
Accurate even under difficult ambient conditions and possessing long-term stability, the LVDT series is suitable for use in high precision applications.
Typical applications for the gauging sensors include quality control and dimensional inspection, use in hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders and other industrial uses.
In the case of quality control, inductive gauging sensors measure the geometry of work-pieces and dimensions for inspection are output in inspection rigs.
The LVDT series use a plunger guided in plain bearings and is fitted with a return spring. The measuring probe is mounted through a standard M2.5 thread and can be interchanged with commercially available measurement probes.
Capable of continuous measurements, the LVDT series uses electromagnetic measurement principles and have a highly efficient construction which provides innovative possibilities for sensor mounting.
The LVDT series have measurement ranges from ±1 mm to ±10 mm and linearity of down to 3µm, or ±0.15%. It can operate in a temperature range of between -20 ºC and 80ºC and has good temperature stability. Housed in stainless steel with magnetic shielding, the gauging sensor is wear-free and provides for long-term stability.
