The FCO210 leak tester calibrators comprise of a highly repeatable miniature laminar flow element, a precision needle valve, a pressure isolation valve and an LCD 3½-inch digital display, all housed in a compact portable housing.
Checking the integrity of a complete leak test circuit including the leak tester, the jig and all the interposing tubing and valves involves closing the isolation valve in the FCO210 and connecting the input port of the FCO210 to the calibration port on the front panel of the leak tester.
The test pressure for the particular leak test is adjusted within the leak test instrument. The isolation valve is opened, and the needle valve is adjusted to display the required leak rate in cc/m or cc/hr.
The FCO210 is then adjusted to begin checking the leak test circuit. A known leaker, or ideally non-leaking part is put into the test jig and a test cycle is started.
The resulting flow rate displayed by the FCO210 during the test phase is compared with the leak tester providing the basis for acceptance or rejection of the calibration of the leak test circuit.
