Bestech Australia offer the FA100-A1 series high performance accelerometer from FGP Sensors and Instrumentation. It is designed for a wide range of complex applications including guidance, tilt sensing and vibration testing.
The micro-machined silicon sensing element used in this accelerometer combines high resolution with an excellent zero stability and a near-zero temperature coefficient thus ensuring high performance and long term reliability of the accelerometer.
Full scale ranges in this series of accelerometers vary from ±2 to ±100 g. The non-linearity varies from <1% of full scale in the highest range, to <0.8% FS in the lowest range. The high performance accelerometers can tolerate shocks of up to 10,000g (0.2ms half-sine period, shocks in each direction).
A supply voltage of 8 to 30V DC is required, and the unit can operate in temperatures from -40 to 85°C. It also provides an analogue voltage output. The FA100-A1 is packaged in a rugged metal case, and incorporates built-in mechanical stops to protect against over-ranging. These accelerometers are designed for easy mechanical mounting and are suitable for use in adverse environmental conditions.
