The new miniature draw-wire displacement sensor measures the linear movement of a component using a wire of highly flexible stainless steel strands.
The draw-wire displacement sensor is a product of Micro-Epsilon, Germany and is available in Australia and New Zealand from Bestech Australia.
The most striking feature of this string pot is the compact size of only 45x31x46 mm. Measurement ranges up to 750 mm are possible despite this miniaturization. Its operating temperature is -20 to +80°C.
These draw wire sensors are easy to mount, a fact which makes them interesting for use in series-produced machines and equipment. Due to the favourable price and the compact size of the pull wire, new potential design and cost optimization is opened up to the user.
The design of this series WPS draw wire sensors is flexible and can accommodate various measurement ranges, classes of accuracy and types of output.
Apart from the usual potentiometer version, models with small incremental encoders as the measuring element are also possible. The wide range of versions enables individual and customer specific matching of the sensors.
- Measurement ranges: 50, 150, 250, 500 and 750 mm
- Sensor element: Potentiometer or incremental encoder.
- Linearity: up to <0.1% of FSO.
- Resolution: Quasi Infinite
- Weight: up to approx. 45g
