Bestech Australia has introduced DA120 tension/ compression bolt on strain sensor manufactured by ME-Systems, Germany.
These strain gauge sensors have various applications such as, monitoring of force, fill level measurement and strain recording of components.
This strain sensor, owing to its closed construction, is suitable for the measurement of strain and force on machine elements and components in a harsh environment. The installation is simple as the sensor has to be merely screwed on with four M4 screws.
This strain gauge sensor has the nominal measurement range of +/- 750 µm/m. The strain gauge sensor responds to tensile and compressive forces only in the longitudinal direction.
The strain gauge sensor is almost unaffected by forces normal to the longitudinal axis. Signal, temperature behaviour and conversion factor depend on the geometry and material pairing. Therefore, calibration is carried out by subjecting the component to a known force.
The sensor has a full strain gauge bridge with an output of ±1 mV/V and an accuracy class of 0.2. The sensor needs a supply voltage of 2.5…12 V. The DA120 tension/ compression strain sensor is available in Australia and New Zealand from Bestech Australia.
