Bestech Australia offer the AR200 group of laser displacement sensors from Acuity Laser Measurement. This range of sensors includes four measuring ranges, with better resolution and sensitivity.
Designed to withstand difficult industrial environments, the AR200 laser measurement sensors have been used in applications to measure the thickness of steel strips in steel strip mills, in the semiconductor industry, automotive testing, and also in medical and high tech industries.
The laser used is a 650nm, class II red visible diode, with spot sizes of 35µm. Measuring ranges vary from 6mm to 50mm, and linearity is approximately ±0.2% of the full scale range. Resolution is down to ±0.03% of full scale range (only 2µm for 6mm range). Sampling rates can be up to 1250 samples/second.
The output formats from the AR200 laser displacement sensor may be selected using device pushbuttons or through serial commands. These include analog signals (4-20 mA, 0-10V), limit switch signals and serial output (RS-232 full duplex, binary or ASCII). The laser displacement measurement unit can operate in temperatures between 0 and 60°C. The enclosure case is compact, and dust and moisture resistant to IP67.
