Profibus, from Belden Australia , is one of the largest open industrial fieldbusses in the world and Belden offers a complete solution from cables, cord sets and connectors to switches, I/O modules and junction boxes. Many new products have recently been introduced from all Belden brands including Hirschmann and Lumberg Automation. Belden can assure companies involved in factory automation (DP) and process automation (PA) that its PROFIBUS solutions can withstand extreme temperature variations, high moisture levels, shock and vibration, electromagnetic interference and operate over long distances.

Advantages of Belden fieldbus systems include a shorter installation time compared to using distribution boxes, reduced machine down-time during maintenance, and the fact that these fieldbusses are easier to troubleshoot for faults using in-built diagnosis systems. Applications for the fieldbus systems include the automotive, food and beverage, assembly and handling, and mining and resources industries.

Hirschmann guarantees data communication with a high protection class up to IP67, while also ensuring speed, in all information technology sectors. Features include:

  • 100 MHz circular connector
  • Quick connection to Ethernet and respective PROFIBUS-PA
  • Transmission rates up to 100 Mbit/s
  • 360̊ continuous screening and field attach
  • For voltages up to 125 V and for currents up to 8 A (PROFIBUS-PA)
  • M12 ETHERNET connector
  • microFX: for fibre optic applications
New Hirschmann products include the new PROFINET I/O switches, which offer switch management via the PLC, and an extensive range of fibre optic PROFIBUS interfaces/repeaters for control systems.  PROFIBUS DP is supported extensively by Lumberg Automation, which offers cord sets, cables, junction/distribution boxes and connectors, as either IP20, IP65 or IP67. It also supports E2C connectivity. A feature of the distribution boxes is easy to see indicator LEDs that provide improved diagnostics.

New additions to the Lumberg range of LioN-Link I/O systems are two new bus coupling and six new I/O modules.
