Belden Australia has introduced two new actuator and sensor interface modules with encapsulated PUR housing and high signal density to its Lumberg Automation product range.
Belden is a global leader in signal transmission solutions for mission-critical applications.
Its Lumberg Automation range has been expanded with the availability of two new actuator/sensor interface (AS-Interface) modules featuring encapsulated PUR housing with high signal density.
Available as an integrated T-piece functionality or piercing contacts, both versions of the interface modules are slave modules with four digital inputs for two-wire or three-wire sensors and four digital outputs for standard actuators.
Two inputs and two outputs are Y-connected with both modules supporting the latest AS-Interface profile in accordance with AS-Interface specification V3.0, providing connection of up to 1,000 digital inputs/outputs. Signal density increases by as much as 50% compared to previous versions of the interface modules.
Each module contains eight M12 sockets for digital inputs and outputs. Slave addresses are assigned via the modules' M12 bus connection by using an addressing unit and a connection cable.
Adam Callender, regional manager for Australia/New Zealand says that the modules' high signal density will save users a significant amount of money because they will require fewer modules overall depending on the network topology.
Key features of the actuator and sensor interface modules:
- Available in two versions: 0910 ASL 146 and 0910 ASL 438
- Both versions comply with the IEC 61076-2-101 and IEC 61131 standards
- IP 67 rated modules
- Suitable for use in temperature ranges from -25ºC to +80ºC
- Power supply is designed for 11V to 30V
- Modules can be securely fastened with three screws
- Module dimensions: 152mm L x 60mm W x 35.8mm D
Belden designs, manufactures and markets cable, connectivity and networking products for industrial automation, enterprise, transportation, infrastructure and consumer electronics segments.
