BELDEN has designed an easier-to-use dispenser for its Category 5e DataTwist cable.
The cable now comes in the new Belden UnReel Box, which is an innovative concept in dispensing cable and incorporates many Australian design suggestions.
Australian installers provided feedback to Belden that has resulted in the following features being included: higher grade board, better and larger handle hole, sling bottom instead of a glued bottom, larger cable hole, and each pack individually metre marked to the last metre: 305 metres to zero.
Other features include:
* Larger inspection hole that allows users to retrieve the cable without opening the box.
* More robust construction.
* Starburst storage hole for the cable end.
* Large plastic spout through which the cable is pulled.
Belden's DataTwist 1583A cable supports Cat. 5e applications including 100BaseTX, 100BaseVG ANYLAN, ATM and Gigabit Ethernet.
With the new UnReel box designed especially for Australian conditions, it will gradually be introduced across the majority of Belden's commodity cables, the next being telephone cable.
