THE safety retro-reflective photoelectric sensor SRK 96 from Balluff-Leuze has application features suitable use in the reel changing area of a web printing machine.
To avoid accidents while working with web printing machines, it is vital to safeguard, with reliable operator safety protection devices, the reel changing area where paper reels of several tonnes are handled.
When actually changing a reel this safety area must be released in a pre-defined way.
When installing such devices, printing machine manufacturers not only ask for reliability but also for easy mounting and functional design.
The Leuze SRK 96 sensor has a maximum range of up to 6m and is very easy to mount. Wiring is only required on the active side. On the opposite side, for example on a large machine body part or on the wiring cabinet, a special reflector is mounted.
As the reflector can even be attached by glue, it will not have any influence on the protection class of the wiring cabinet.
The SRK96 operates on a polarised light. This ensures reliable detection and prevents any manipulation caused by reflecting or glossy objects penetrating its light beam.
Together with the test monitoring unit TMC 66, with its integrated muting function, it is particulary easy to carry out regular work processes in a safe manner.
The mounting feature allows two sensors to be connected. For this purpose one can use throughbeam or retro-reflective photoelectric sensor compulsary opening safety switches or an existing PLC.
Together with the test monitoring unit the retro-reflective photoelectric sensor SRK 96 compiles with requirements of safety category 2.
