BALLUFF-Leuze has released a singleturn absolute encoder. Its measures 50mm and has IP 67 protection. The resolution is 11 bit per revolution with an update rate of 10kHz. It also offers simple CAM function, eight parallel output lines and pushbutton setting of the zero position.
Users can change between eight factory-set programmes with a simple DIP switch. The encoder assigns an eight-bit output data word to each of 2048 positions over 360° and provides this as a parallel output. Up to 256 different output values are thus available.
Depending on the programming the device can supply various combinations of incremental and absolute signals. It is suitable for use in rotary indexing machines for assembly, cleaning and blasting.
