BALLUFF-Leuze has released the DDLS 200 data transmission unit. It supports the trend towards greater network link-up flexibility with the latest interface variants Ethernet, CANopen and DeviceNet.

This capability allows no-contact optical data transmission to be integrated without problems into 10 Mbit or 100 Mbit Ethernet networks, while supporting Ethernet protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Interbus on Ethernet, PROFInet and ModBUS/TCP iDA. The unit is generally connected using a twisted-pair port with RJ 45 plug or alternatively a round M12 connector. DeviceNet and CANopen versions are also available, supporting transmission rates up to 1.5Mbit at 300m. The units are optical, extending the physical distance of a bus network.

The range of variants has been extended with bus coupling to Interbus S in copper or fibre optic cables, Profibus FMS, DP or MPI, Rockwell Automation DH+ and RIO, making optical data transmission available for the entire spectrum of different bus systems.

No-contact optical data transmission is suitable for providing a data link for free moving automatic guided vehicle systems. The DDLS 200 data transmission system operates within a range of 0.2m-300m.
