Balluff introduces a new generation of photoelectric sensors designed to set new benchmarks in compact class.
The new photoelectric sensors in the BOS 6K series from Balluff measure just 31.5 x 19.5 x 10.8 mm, making them ideal for use in the tight spaces of compact machines. Apart from their compact dimensions, the new photoelectric sensors offer several advantages including a functional product range consisting of 70 variants with red light and laser versions (class 1) for very demanding jobs.
Diffuse sensors, through-beam sensors, reflection light sensors with and without background suppression, and analogue distance sensors, each with the flexibility to be configured for light/dark switching, are part of the new BOS 6K family.
The retroreflective light sensor with autocollimation features extremely low hysteresis that allows it to easily detect transparent objects made of glass, such as bottles, ampoules and test tubes, or transparent plastic films.
As analogue distance sensors, BOS 6K sensors open up new possibilities, especially when positioning clamping jaws on a machine for producing ball bearings.
Key features and benefits of the BOS 6K series photoelectric sensors include impressive precision, range and function reserves across all variants; exceptionally tough and durable plastic housing with abrasion-resistant laser inscription; special design element protecting the optics from the side; prime choice for food industry applications with high IP 67 and IP 69K degrees of protection, a lens surface of PMMA, and Ecolab approval; high-quality teach buttons with exceptional tactile feedback; sensor functions configurable during ongoing operation for extreme convenience; two LEDs easily visible from any direction indicating operating state, function reserves and switching state; and extremely durable metal plugs to prevent outages under high mechanical loads.
The new BOS 6K generation of photoelectric sensors allows users to switch over easily from a previous version with identical size, installation, operating concept and even price.
The BOS 6K photoelectric sensors can be installed easily with two integrated dovetail guides provided on the housing as well as two normal drilled holes and two elongated mounting holes offering mounting flexibility.
