LUMBERG has developed a new distribution module for food and beverage processing. It is available from Balluff-Leuze .
Food and beverage processing industries provide a challenging environment for connectors and interconnect components. Meticulous, regular cleaning demand the highest integrity of all components exposed in this harsh environment.
The housing and metal hardware of this distribution box are constructed of high grade stainless steel for maximum chemical resistance to acids and alkaloids. Crevices conducive to harbouring bacteria and other food particles have been replaced by smooth, easy to clean surfaces. It has a temperature rating of -20ºC to 80ºC. It is an IP69K rated, sealed construction distribution block, suited to applications calling for high-pressure wash down requirements.
The standard product configuration features eight M12 ports with dual channel capability for a possible 16 I/O points. Its built-in LEDs are green and its function indicators are yellow, with housing and screw fittings of stainless steel. Connection modules are also available featuring similar design. This forms a connection system offering a high level of functional safety to increase the efficiency of production.
