BALLUFF-Leuze has released RT 96-5000 WW wide-angle anti-collision systems for gantry cranes and shuttle cars. It has a reflex foil and background suppression, offering a maximum scanning depth for transport operations on the straight and around corners of 5m and 2.5m respectively.
The sensor’s background suppression recognises only the foil and it is not susceptible to spurious signals from metallic or reflective objects. The laser light scanner operates in accordance with the phase measurement principle, which measures the distance as a result of the phase shift between the transmitted and the received signal. The use of this measurement principle guarantees a switching point reproduction accuracy of ±20mm.
The system has switching points for creep speed and stop command with teach-in setting facility, coloured LEDs for status display and dark switching outputs for cable breakage monitoring.
The HRT 96-5000 WW laser light scanner also offers high system availability, in particular in terms of collision safeguarding and protection in automatic guided vehicle systems and rack handling devices.
