Baldors large DC Shunt Motors are designed for Full Thyristor Control variable speed drives, stock motors are supplied as force ventilated with Blower and Class ‘H’ Insulation. Baldor DC motor control ‘Series 20H’ line regenerative dc digital controls are precision controls for constant torque and variable speed.

Typical applications for large frame DC electric motors include:

Hoist and crane where motor peak capacities exceed 200% for several seconds, and ideally suited for line regenerative Dc motor drive systems
Web tension applications requiring large amounts of power available from small frame TEBC DC motors
Winder and rewinder applications where high reversals and high standstill torques required
Downhill conveyors - well suited for DC's regenerating capabilities
Dyno test stands where high overloads and peak torques have been traditional applications for DC motor drive systems.
