Suppliers of motion control systems, Baldor Australia  was recently awarded the 2009 Motion Industries National Supplier of the Year Award at a supplier presentation dinner held by Wesfarmers Industrial and Safety in Sydney.

The award recognises outstanding performance by Baldor Australia, and a willingness and ability to provide superior service and support to Motion Industries.

Motion Industries is one of a number of big name companies within the Wesfarmers Industrial and Safety division. Others include Bakers, Blackwoods, Bullivants, Protector Alsafe, and Total Fasteners.

The theme and evaluation criterion for the awards was ‘Partnering for Growth’, and Baldor Australia scored high marks in the feedback survey completed by regional and departmental Motion Industries team members. The areas that were considered included:

  • actively supports growth
  • offers value added services (training)
  • sales and marketing support; and
  • responsiveness (DIFOT, dealing with enquiries).
Baldor Australia was commended for its willingness to partner for the future, having provided extensive training during the year to the Motion Industries engineering sales team across Australia.

Several Baldor engineers travelled from the USA, and joined local sales engineers at regional training days to pass on detailed knowledge of their motion control products, applications, and solutions; thereby helping to build on the relationship and extend the product knowledge base within Motion Industries.

Craig Dyke, National Manager of Motion Industries who presented the award trophy said, “We are very pleased with the win by Baldor as they have shown a real interest in learning what our business requirements are, that is, ‘help us build our business and we’ll help you build yours’, through focusing on our customer needs and appropriate solutions, and then actioning a plan to deliver results that benefits both organisations.”
