AN extensive range of new equipment has been added to the 2003 issue of the Australian Baldor Servo Products & Positioning Systems catalogue.
Machine builders will find the NanoMove and NanoStepper sub-micron positioning stages and the LSG xyz linear gantry platform of interest.
The MintNC is the latest in time saving front ends to allow machine builders to easily and quickly configure and entire servo system or develop custom front ends using the optional ActiveX interface.
Other new products include MicroFlex and second generation FlexDrive II, Flex+Drive II and MintDrive II brushless ac servo drives.
MicroFlex is designed as an entry-level single axis drive for rotary/linear/stepper motor applications requiring 3 to 9 amps continuous per axis.
MicroFlex introduces Space Vector Modulation (SVM) to reduce switching losses and harmonics, increase efficiency and to allow motors to operate and higher speeds.
FlexDrive II, Flex+Drive II single axis drives offer extensive features and options for more complex applications.
These drives offer resolver, commutating encoder or EnDat (single or multi-turn absolute) feedback, handwheel encoder for both encoder and resolver based motors, extended in-built PLC functionality with simple AND/OR logic, 7 to 256 preset positions, 12MHz encoder input (post quadrature), and fieldbus options such as DeviceNet, Profibus-DP or CANopen.
MintDrive II is a powerful single axis motion controller offering extensive programmable features. Motion control, I/O handling, serial communications, machine level networking and optional operator interface panel work together under the control of the Baldor MintMT (multi-tasking) program which is stored on-board the drive.
All of these drives utilise a new common 32-bit Windows based front end for set-up/programming of the Baldor MintMT operating system. Details of the new MintMT program capabilities are also featured in the catalogue together with upgraded features of SmartMove, NextMove and the all new NextMove ESB 7 axis motion controllers.
