BAHCO Tools has launched a new slip joint plier in the Ergo family intended for work requiring a wide grip.
The Bahco Ergo 8226 grips up to 67mm and with its 400mm length, provides plenty of leverage to facilitate tightening and loosening of items such as pipe couplings.
The ergonomically designed tool reduces muscle strains in the user's hand and forearm. The Ergo 8226 slip joint plier has a metal button providing rapid setting in 13 different opening positions.
The Ergo 8226 is manufactured in chrome-vanadium steel with an anti-corrosion black oxidized finish. Its specially hardened jaws are designed to give maximum grip on both curved and flat surfaces. The grip width can be adjusted with one hand to 13 different positions via a rapid push button on the upper shank.
The ergonomically designed handles have a large contact area that reduces surface pressure and minimises the risk of work injuries. The part of the two-component handle that comes into contact with the hand is made of thermoplastic elastomer, ensuring a firm grip even when the hand is oily.
The Bahco 8226 is the largest tool in the Ergo slip joint pliers family, which now ranges from 210 to 400mm in length. The Ergo-symbol shows that the tool has undergone the company's 11-point product development programme, which means that the slip joint pliers have been tested and evaluated at least three times by professional users during development.
