BACKPLANE Systems has released Octagon's latest embedded board, the PC-520. This single board computer has been designed in an industry standard EBX package. The rugged, low power PC has DOS 7.1 installed and is compatible with Windows NT and CE, QNX, Linux and other PC packages.
The PC-520 features an ELAN SC-520 133MHz processor and comes complete with 4MB of surface mount flash and 32MB of SDRAM in a single SO-DIMM socket. Optional 2MB and 8MB of flash and up to 64MB of SDRAM are available for OEM orders. An additional socket supports DiskOnChip.
The PC-520 provides a wide range of I/O to cover nearly every application. The board features 24-bit digital I/O, eight analog inputs, two analog outputs, a bi-directional parallel port and 10BASE-T ethernet. Additional I/O capability is available through the PC/104 bus expansion slot.
This rugged board supports up to two EIDE devices, two channel counter/timer, standard PC speaker port, real time clock, PS/2 keyboard/mouse port, up to two floppy drives and programmable Watchdog timer.
The wide temperature range (-40°C to +70°C) and resistance to shock and vibration makes the board suitable for mobile applications. The unit does not require a fan, which means it can be used in a sealed enclosure. Backplane Systems Technology 02 9457 6400.
