BACKPLANE Systems Technology has released A.Born's rugged mobile PC, the ADAMANT. This PC meets the military environmental standard Mil-Std-810F and IP68 (fully sealed).

This tough PC features a fanless ultra low voltage Mobile Intel CPU (Pentium III or Dothan), 12 programmable function keys and a built-in smart Lithium-ion battery.
The PCMCIA card bus slot and Compact Flash slot offer the user expandability and storage options. One RJ45 and two USB 2.0 ports are also available for expansion.
The ADAMANT features a 430 nits 10.4" TFT LCD display with capacitive touch screen. An optional sunlight readable function is available.
The ADAMANT case is machined from high quality aluminium alloy 6063-T6, plated and finished to provide an extremely durable and scratch resistant coating, suitable for a wide range of military environmental conditions.
The ADAMANT has been designed with no screw holes on the front panel that would enable liquid to infiltrate the PC.
A dual sealing technique ensures the ADAMANT not only withstands up to 3m immersion in water, but also maintains EMC compliance to the most rigorous requirements.
The ADAMANT easily converts to in-vehicle operation with an optional flexible vehicle mounting kit.
A hard suitcase-like or soft shoulder-bag carry cases are available to easily and safely transport the PC.
