BACKPLANE Systems Technology has announced Digital-Logic's latest addition to its comprehensive range of embedded boards, the MSMP3 Series.
The compact boards have many features that are important in embedded applications. Functions include 16MB to 256MB expandable SDRAM, a 256kB L2 cache and an optional CompactFlash socket supporting up to 1GB.
In addition, the boards provide two USB interfaces and a 100/10Base-T Ethernet interface for fast communication.
The innovative cooling concept coupled with low-power consumption allows these embedded boards to be used in a wide range of sophisticated applications.
Additional technical features include an integrated RTC battery, support for EEPROM and external IrDA ports and system interfaces for PS/2 keyboard, PS/2 mouse, hard disk and floppy drive.
In addition, the board contains a watchdog timer, RS232 ports for COM1 and COM2 and a printer interface.
An optional SXGA-69030 video controller with 4MB of video RAM is available. This board provides brilliant images with 64,000 colours and a resolution of up to 1600 x 1200 pixels.
The modules operate with a 5V/2.5A power supply and have a standard temperature range of -25°C to +50°C. An optional extended temperature range of -40°C to +70°C is also available.
The MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure) of more than 200,000 hours confirms the high reliability of this PC/104+ series of boards.
