BACKPLANE Systems Technology has released the EB-202, a compact embedded Vortex86 system. This embedded unit has been designed for a variety of industrial and commercial applications including information appliances.
The system includes an embedded single board computer and compact chassis measuring 144mm x 115mm x 50mm.
The board features a Vortex86 166MHz System-On-Chip CPU, audio, one RS232 port, three USB ports, one bi-directional parallel port, dual Ethernet, AT keyboard connector and PS/2 mouse connector.
The embedded system features a 144-pin SODIMM socket and an IrDA pin-header suitable for wireless communication applications.
The board features two Realtek 8100B single LAN chips capable of full-duplex transfer mode, effectively doubling bandwidth. The Ethernet is NE2000 compatible with a built-in 16kB RAM buffer and throughput of 10/100Mbps.
The EB-202 system features an AGP Rev 2.0 compliant CRT/LCD display with a resolution of up to 1920 x 1440 true colours and a shared system memory area of up to 128MB.
It has a low power, single voltage consumption of +5V @ 1.7A. In addition, the system has a wide operating temperature range of -20°C to +60°C and cold boots can be undertaken in -20°C environments.
The EB-202 system has been designed for use in applications requiring high performance processing with low power consumption and low heat dissipation.
