BACKPLANE Systems Technology has announced the release of Axiom's 1U compact network server chassis, the AX6210TP. This flexible chassis supports a range of full-length PICMG single board computers.
The AX6210TP is only 390mm deep and has been designed specifically for network-type applications that require system scalability, performance capability and have limited space.
The server is built with a PICMG single board computer and backplane structure and combines expansion slots, storage drives and a power supply into a streamlined platform.
The AX6210 is suitable for firewall, virtual private network (VPN), communication nodes and server applications within the networking sector.
The AX6210TP is equipped with a built-in butterfly backplane, supporting two half-sized PCI expansion cards, one 3.5" drive bay for FDD or HDD, five 40mm fans for optimal cooling and a build-in 150W ATX power supply.
The chassis also includes space for an optional slim-line CD-ROM drive.
Axiom's latest PICMG single board computer, the SBC8168VEE, supports Tualatin processors up to a maximum speed of 1.26GHz. The onboard connectivity options include keyboard and PS/2 mouse ports, two serial ports, one parallel port, four USB ports and one IrDA pin-header for wireless communication.
Networking capability is achieved through the integrated dual 10/100 Base-T RJ-45 interfaces, which also features Wake On LAN support.
