Backplane Systems Technology  will display Digital-Logic’s SMX945-L2400 smartModule based on COM Express technology at CeBit Australia 2008, stand: X72.

This new COM Express PC module is a small processor module with Intel Core Duo Processor L2400 at 1.66GHz.

This tiny computer (115mmx70mmx15mm) features high video performance in fanless operation, supporting HDTV and offering four PCI Express lanes.

It is based on the Mobile Intel 945GM Express chipset, which includes the Intel 82945GM Graphic Memory Controller Hub (GMCH) and Intel I/O Controller Hub 7-M (ICH7-M).

SMX945-L2400 provides all standard PC interfaces such as VGA, COM1/2, LPT1, a floppy interface, an IrDA interface, two PS/2 ports for mouse and keyboard, and eight USB2.0 ports.

Main memory up to 1GB of DDR2 RAM is available. The CPU and memory are mounted and are mechanically protected against vibration and shock.

The SMX945-L2400’s video controller, which is integrated in the Intel 945GM Express chipset, supports up to 128MB video memory and is DirectX 9 compatible.

The module further includes a TV output for HDTV, NTSC and PAL standards and a high definition audio 7.1 stereo sound system with eight-channel output. Two SATA150 hard disk interfaces 10/100Base-T Ethernet controller are available.

The PC module is supplied by a voltage of 5V and 12V and operates in the extended temperature range of –40°C to +70°C.

Designed for low power consumption and high video performance, the SMX945 Express module is the ideal solution for applications in the areas of video processing, video streaming, biometric processing, home automation and remote management of IT applications.
