Backplane Systems Technology has announced the release of one of the Smallest computers based on the AMD Geode LX800 processor, MICROSPACE MPC20 and MPC21.
Housed in robust metal cases, the miniature computer systems perform well wtih their dimensions of only 160mm x 105mm x 27mm.
Main features of the PCs are:
- Two 100/10Base-T-Ethernet LAN ports
- Four USB 2.0 interfaces, sound, VGA and the expandability by MiniPCI (WLAN) and PC/104 (CAN, COM and field bus)
- A CompactFlash disk or optional 2.5” hard disk with a storage capacity of 40MB serve as boot media
The MPC20/21 can be used stand-alone, wall mounted or mounted on a DIN-Rail. Both systems are fanless and rely solely on passive cooling techniques. This makes them the ideal solution for reliable, cost-effective long-term operation in industrial and commercial applications. Typical applications are POI/POS, firewall, embedded control, security and HMI.
The MPC20/21 supports up to 1GB DDR RAM and features 32MB VRAM integrated within the Geode processor. This controller supports VGA resolutions up to 1920 x 1440 pixels and 85Hz.
Designed for low power consumption (typically 8 watts), the board operates within the temperature range of 0°C to +60°C. The systems are also available for extended operating temperature ranging from –40°C to +70°C.
