Backplane Systems Technology announces the release of Perfectron’s new EBX extreme rugged fanless system, the SR100.

Based on the Intel Haswell QM87 chipset, the SR100 is powered by Intel 4th generation Core i7/i5/i3 onboard processor. With the ability to operate effectively in harsh environments in a wide temperature range from -20°C to +60°C (-40°C to 70°C optional), the SR100 is suitable for military, transportation, factory automation and digital signage applications.

Perfectron’s new extreme rugged fanless system is based on an EBX form factor featuring stackable PCIe/104 and FPE expansions, onboard Nano SATA (3.0)1 6/32 GigaByte SSD and Swissbit XR-DIMM up to 8GB. Offering support for triple-display with 2x DisplayPort and 1x DVI-I, plus 2x GIGA LAN ports, 4x USB (2x 2.0, 2 x 3.0), 1x COM port and 2x mPCIe expansion slots (one co-layout with mSATA), the SR100 supplies wide power voltage from 9 to 36V DC-in designed for use in a range of industrial applications.

Reliable in Anti-Vibration & Anti-Shock (MIL-STD-810G)

The SR100 features soldered critical components including CPU, Nano SATA SSD and rugged Swissbit XR-DIMM, which can enhance its anti-shock and anti-vibration capabilities. The SR100 also complies with the MIL-STD-810G standard supporting at least 5Grms vibration and 50G shock.

Stackable with PCIe/104 & FPE Expansion

Known for application ruggedness, reliability, sealing properties, and compactness, the PCIe/104 and FPE connectors are ideal for high-end electronic equipment as well as use in extreme environmental conditions. With easy connect/disconnect and blind mating, the SR100 has a functional life greater than 10,000 mating cycles. The PCIe/104 connector on the SR100 specifies standard of SAMTEC Q2 QMS/QFS series in a three bank (156-pin) orientation for module stacking. SAMTEC designed the QMS/QFS series with a 15.24mm stack height for top and bottom board stacking.

Expandable by Extension Storage Module, the SK401

The SR100 features standard I/O functionality by stacking with SK401, a PC/104 Universal Bus of Type 2. Four-set SATA signals on the SK401 functioning through 2x main SATA signals enables the user to use 1x external SATA connector and 1x mSATA, or 1x on board 2.5” SSD/HDD and 1x mSATA. The SK401 supports operating systems including Windows 7, Windows XP, Linux and DOS.

19” Deployable Rugged Rackmount Enclosure

The SR100 has optional half 19” rackmount kit designed with removable handle and rubber feet on lateral sides, allowing portability. Unlike other 19” deployable rackmount kits, the SR100 can be mounted vertically or horizontally in a 19” cabinet.

Processor Without Throttling, CPU Full Speed

Designed for extreme temperature environments, the SR100 offers proven outstanding operational performance under mission critical conditions. Powered by Intel 4th generation Core i7/i5/i3 processor, it survives an extended market-leading operating temperature range of -20°C to +60°C without processor throttling (reduced frequency) and continuously presents superior high performance.

Ignition Power Design

The SR100 supports wide range DC input 9V~36V that protects the system from damage caused by unexpected voltage and current ensuring normal operation.
