Backplane Systems Technology  has announced the release of the MSM200X/XU/XP PC/104-Express Card with Intel Atom Processor, 4x COM and GPS + GSM/WLAN from Swiss-based Company, Digital-Logic.

The MICROSPACE MSM200X/XL/XP is based on the latest Intel Atom processor, and is the latest addition to a growing range of PC/104-Express single board computers. The powerful board is used in battery powered mobile computers, information terminals with game systems with music output, measuring instruments, video displays or telecommunication devices.

Besides a fast CPU, the MSM200 express card provides all standard PC interfaces required for such demanding applications, including Ethernet, an audio controller (HDA-AC97), 4x RS232 interfaces, 1x PATA and 2x SATA interfaces. Additionally, the PCI/104-Express bus (PCI + PCIe), PCIe Minicard and 6x USB interfaces are available as functional extensions. The PCIe Minicard permits to extend the board with GSM or WLAN functions. Optionally the MSM200 can be equipped with a GPS receiver (COM4). The MSM200 features a low power consumption of only 6W which allows passive cooling within a very broad operating temperature range.

The two options (X and XP) are equipped with the SMA200 Atom Z510/Z530 processor (1.1/1.6GHz) and offer up to 1GB RAM (2 GB in the future). For cooling a heat spreader can be used, which provides an extended operating temperature –40°C to +85°C. The boards have dimensions of 90mm x 96mm (W x L) and weigh only 120g.
