Backplane Systems Technology has announced the launch of the MI952 embedded platform featuring the AMD 780E chipset from iBase. The MI952 embedded platform packs excellent performance, scalability and power efficiency into a solution targeted at high-end embedded client applications such as industrial automation, test and measurement, digital signage and surveillance systems.
To support a wide range of performance and power points, MI952 embedded platform is compatible with both AMD Athlon dual-core processors and low power AMD Athlon single-core processors from 8W to 65W. Through the integrated ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics, the motherboard comes with an array of display interfaces such as DVI-I, DVI-D and HDMI, and also supports two independent displays.
The MI952 embedded platform features an optional 128MB GDDR3 dedicated frame buffer (sideport memory) to optimise video decoding and also to save on power.
Standard I/O connectivity includes high definition audio, 2x Gigabit LAN, 2x SATA, 8x USB, and 4x serial ports.
