Backplane Systems Technology has announced the release of Avalue's EMX-780E Mini-ITX motherboards, which have been designed for use in home automation, gaming and medical applications.
Intended for use with embedded systems, these motherboards feature AMD RS780E+SB710 chipsets, which consume only 7 to 15 Watts of power, with support for single core, dual-core and quad-core processors.
Processors compatible with EMX-780E motherboards include the latest low power AM3 processors, such as the Phenom II XLT Q54L (65W) and Athlon II XL V66C (45W), V64L (45W) and V50L (25W).
In addition, they feature an onboard Hardware Status Monitor that features Auto Throttling Control checking CPU temperature and cooling fan status.
EMX-780E Mini-ITX motherboards also feature:
- support for up to 4GB of DDR2 memory via dual SODIM Sockets
- a CompactFlash socket
- dual SATA ports for storage
- PCI Express (PCIe) x 16 and Mini-PCIe slots for expansion
- Dual View, 2-CH LVDS; and
- an onboard HDMI.
Interfaces include Gigabit Ethernet plus 8x USB 2.0, 2x SATA, 4x COM, 8-bit GPIO, CF 1x PCIex16, 1x Mini PCIe.
