BW Technologies announces the launch of the HALO light ring indicator from Honeywell Analytics.

Designed for use with all SearchPoint Optima Plus IR gas detector models, the HALO light ring indicator enhances site safety by providing a local display, clearly showing the device status at a glance even from a distance. 

The bright LED light ring delivers device information via universally recognised ‘traffic light’ colours, with green symbolising normal operation, red flashing alarm and yellow indicating fault/inhibit. HALO’s clearly visible status indications also make Optima Plus devices in Alarm or Fault status easier to find, helping to reduce maintenance time in the field. This feature is particularly useful in areas where a number of points of detection are situated or when units are located in hard-to-reach places.

When used with the latest HART enabled SearchPoint Optima Plus model variant, HALO allows users to perform non-intrusive interaction using a HART Handheld Communication Device and an optional IS (Intrinsically Safe) connection port, further reducing maintenance time and cost by removing the need for ‘hot work permits’ to configure devices or make modifications in the field.

The latest model variant includes optional HART, enabling sites using a 4-20mA output to gain functionality without any additional infrastructural wiring costs. HART also allows users to gain access to full information from SearchPoint Optima Plus anywhere in the loop, helping to save valuable time when carrying out routine maintenance work, as the full scope of work can be identified before entering the field.
