BQT Solutions introduce IP enabled SmaX access control system
BQT Solutions have released the TCP/IP version of the SmaX access control system. BQT Solutions, IP enabled SmaX access control system has been ordered for inclusion using technologically advanced smart building projects, called Carina, an aged care facility for PresCare, a Ministry of the Presbyterian Church of Queensland.
The sections of this are installed for PresCare by Queensland based communications specialist, Surecom. It helps in controlling 170 doors by the TCP/IP version of the SmaX access control system.
Anastasios Angeloglou, BQT Solutions CEO stated that the release of this version of SmaX access control system is a milestone for BQT Solutions. It allows customers to use their existing communications infrastructure with significant additional benefits including simpler, cost-effective installation. BQT Solutions provide its customers the ability to choose between TCP/IP and RS485 versions. SmaX competes with wider section of the access control market. BQT Solutions are working to integrate with other IP based technologies, including Mobotix IP cameras and have recently integrated DLI-IT’s time and attendance package for sale throughout the Middle East.
Ash Hanna, CEO of Surecom, commented that they are happy to work with PresCare and to deliver the project that is at the forefront of building technology. PresCare decided that Carina would be built as a keyless facility, where staff is given smart cards to access restricted zones.
This decision to have a keyless system running throughout the whole facility provides effective benefit for PresCare. Using the SmaX access control system, when a new staff member starts, Human Resources at PresCare provide new staff a card with appropriate permissions and removes the access rights from the old cards. This results in improved security for the facility, its residents and staff.
With ongoing consultation between BQT and Surecom, the IP version of SmaX is available for this project. Due to the IP nature of the project, all communications and security are controlled through a state based control room, rather than a control room in each site. BQT Solutions have supplied the first part of the order to Surecom and the complete order is to be fulfilled by the end of August 2008.
