Leading gases and engineering company BOC introduces a new hi-tech welder for the mining industry offering robust construction, ease of operation and excellent results.
Produced by leading German manufacturer of welding equipment, EWM, and distributed throughout the South Pacific by BOC’s team of welding specialists, the relatively portable and compact Taurus 505 offers high levels of performance at an accessible price.
The new Taurus 505 provides the resources and heavy industries with a highly-reliable tool for professional MIG/MAG standard welding.
BOC’s Senior Product Manager for Welding Products in Australia and New Zealand, Richard Fowles explains that the Taurus 505 is perfectly tailored for the mining industry but would also suit a range of heavy industry applications such as production work in steel and vehicle construction.
Offering multi-shift operation and solidly-designed stable metal housing for a long service life, the new welder is a high-tech workhorse that continues BOC’s proud tradition of welding innovation.
The new Taurus 505 welders are highly versatile, safe and reliable. Weighing just 45kg, the inverter welding machine can be equipped with a roll cage for easy transport in the field. The Taurus 505 can also be carried comfortably by two people, transported in the back of a ute or lifted to difficult worksites by crane.
The Taurus 505 is the first welding machine from the EWM stable with the ability to drive a voltage sensing wire feeder. It is also fitted with a voltage reduction device (VRD) compliant with AS 1674.2-2007 for Category C environments.
Suitable for MIG/MAG, MMA and air arc gouging, the modular welder can be water or gas cooled. Taurus 505 welding machines offer very high power reserves, allowing the use of long intermediate hose packages on conventional EWM constant voltage wire feeders.
