BECKHOFF Automation is exhibiting it's complete PC-based control solution for blow moulding technology at the K 2010 trade show.
The BECKHOFF Automation TwinCAT Blow Moulding Plastic Framework includes software modules both for continuously working machines and for machines with accumulator heads. Together with the blow moulding HMI software, this PC-based control solution offers a complete software solution for blow moulding machines.
On the hardware side, the blow moulding machine control package is rounded off by Panel PCs in two versions: a full-scale solution with a 15-inch touchscreen display for the most diverse types of machine, and a compact solution with a 6.5-inch touchscreen display for simpler, continuous, or intermittent operating machines.
The Plastic Framework from BECKHOFF Automation offers turnkey solutions for injection moulding, extrusion and blow moulding machines in three different modules. The Plastic Framework, which is based on the TwinCAT automation suite, is suitable for all types of hydraulic systems, from simple valve technology with digital actuators through to complex units with energy-saving servomotor-driven pumps and servo valve technology. However, the software package can also be used in servo-electric drive systems.
The temperature controllers in these blow moulding machine control packages are optimised for the special control path properties of extruders and extrusion heads.
The editor for the wall thickness controller features convenient input functions and assists the operator in the fast and secure input of the wall thickness curve. The movement of carriage, mould and blowpin is entered conveniently and displayed in an arrow diagram.
Powerful switching functions allow the manufacture of even the most complex articles with high productivity.
Global use is also ensured by a range of different units of measurement and operating languages available to the user.
Windows-based blow moulding HMI software is offered as an option for the TwinCAT Blow Molding Plastic Framework. The machine manufacturer can freely decide whether to create its own “look and feel” or whether to use the BECKHOFF Automation Windows XP or Windows CE-based operating interface for blow moulding machines. This facilitates orientation for the machine manufacturer and, together with the standard for PC operation, represents a future-proof investment.
