BECKHOFF Automation offers interfaces for HMI connections by various third-party manufacturers for its TwinCAT automation suite.
Customers can freely choose the visualisation software that they would like to use. One of the manufacturers of HMI solutions is Invensys/Wonderware, with the ‘Powered by Wonderware’ program, offers its InTouch HMI Compact Edition software in combination with hardware from selected manufacturers.
“As a global supplier of Industrial PCs, we now offer Wonderware customers the possibility to purchase complete HMI systems with pre-installed InTouch HMI Compact Edition and our Panel PC hardware,” explains Gerd Hoppe, Corporate Management, Beckhoff.
Visualisation users worldwide should benefit from this cooperation. Users will get a certified combination of the InTouch Compact Edition software and Industrial PC hardware that is ready for use instantly and includes the integrity of the complete solution. The two companies each distribute their respective part of the product, but mutually check the compatibility of the components.
“On account of their high performance, robustness and global presence, Beckhoff products are fundamentally open and predestined for many visualisation solutions by the most diverse suppliers,” states Gerd Hoppe and he continues: “In terms of their customers, Wonderware and Beckhoff create user value by offering an integrated solution. Both companies cross-market their products independently of each other in a ‘one-to-many’ offering to the market.”
In the CP62xx, CP72xx and CP77xx Panel PC series, Beckhoff offers a series of Industrial PCs with various display sizes and different versions on which a compact version of the Wonderware InTouch visualisation software is pre-installed. The operating system is Windows CE throughout. There is no installation work to be done and the devices can be put into operation immediately.
