Working closely with BT Imaging and their associated contractors, BCS Innovations designed a custom electronic control system to drive and manage a Class 4 Laser and its peripheral hardware.
The laser control system was required to interface a multitude of real world sensors to two national instruments data acquisition (NIDAQ) cards, as well as provide multiple low level control loops via an on board FPGA allowing safety critical processes to be carried out independently from the LabView based PC software. These included the laser’s interlocking system and operation of the pneumatic lift tray. The majority of the laser’s interlocking system was mechanically designed in house at BCS.
