Axis Communications has announced a set of new network cameras and a video encoder for improved IP surveillance to become available for order in April.
The AXIS P5522/-E range of PTZ dome cameras are easy to install and great for monitoring indoor and outdoor areas of stores, banks, museums, warehouses, parking lots, construction sites and other business premises.
The professional pan/tilt/zoom security surveillance camera allows users to pan 360º over a wide area with 18x optical zoom. The PTZ cameras have day and night functionality, automatically switching to black and white in low light conditions to provide clearer vision hence enabling security surveillance in both dark and light areas.
The PTZ dome cameras support video resolutions up to D1 and simultaneously send multiple video streams in H.264 and/or Motion JPEG. H.264 optimises bandwidth and storage use without compromising image and quality and Motion JPEG is supported for increased flexibility.
Protected from dust and dripping water, the indoor AXIS P5522 has an IP51 rating and functions even after fire sprinklers are activated.
The outdoor AXIS P5522-E has IP66 and NEMA 4X ratings for protection against rain, snow, sun and dust and needs no additional enclosures.
Both dome camera models use High Power over Ethernet (IEEE 802.3at) simplifying installation with a one-cable solution for power, video and PTZ controls.
The security surveillance camera also offers Axis’ Advanced Gatekeeper functionality enabling the camera to capture images from a preset position when motion is detected in a predefined area.
The optional multi-connector cable allows the user to listen in remotely, communicate with intruders and remotely trigger alarms. The dome cameras can also connect to external devices such as sensors and relays using the optional cable. AXIS P5522/-E cameras have a built-in SD/SDHC memory card slot that enables recordings to be locally stored.
The cameras are supported by AXIS Camera Station video management software and the industry’s largest base of application software through Axis’ Application Development Partner Program.
