Axis Communications IP Network Cameras to monitor Parliament House

Supplier News

Axis Communications IP Network Cameras are being used to monitor Parliament House in Canberra, as part of a major contract won by BAE Systems to replace the existing Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) management system.

Axis encoders currently support the existing analogue DVR in use at Parliament House. As part of the upgrade to the CCTV management system, the new Axis IP Network Cameras that will be installed throughout the premises will provide 1080i HDTV quality images for detailed image clarity; intelligent video capabilities, such as advanced motion detection, audio detection and detection of camera tampering; high performance in extreme weather conditions; easy installation and discreet design for indoor surveillance; smooth integration with existing building management system; and remote monitoring capabilities.

Wai King Wong, Country Manager Australia and New Zealand, Axis Communications explained that the high level of traffic passing every day through the buildings and grounds of Parliament House, makes it essential to have a security monitoring system that is reliable, flexible and intelligent.
