CYCLADES Australia has released the AlterPath Integrator for HP OpenView, an integration module that links the system’s management platform to the Cyclades AlterPath system.
The module allows IT administrators to easily access, diagnose and restore disconnected IT assets using Cyclades Out-of-Band Infrastructure (OOBI) products from within their HP OpenView window. AlterPath Integrator for HP OpenView streamlines the process for restoring IT assets, which enables businesses to reduce IT operational costs and risks while increasing IT personnel and IT asset productivity.
The AlterPath System can be used to build and operate a comprehensive OOBI that provides alternative paths into the production IT infrastructure so that disconnected assets can be reconnected and returned to normal operation. Using the integration module, administrators can right-click on disconnected IT asset icons, which appear in red instead of their normal colour within HP OpenView. This action opens a direct out-of-band connection to the disconnected device through the AlterPath System, enabling the administrator to quickly diagnose and restore the asset.
The OOBI infrastructure includes serial console servers, KVM analogue and KVM over IP switches, intelligent power distribution units, service processor managers and blade managers, all controlled by an OOBI manager like Cyclades AlterPath Manager.
