VIPA has released an industrial grade Ethernet switch, available from Automation Warehouse , which is possibly the smallest ever DIN-rail mounted industrial TCP/IP switching hub at only 25mm(w) x 75mm(h) x 76mm(d).
Switches are used in industrial automation Ethernet factory networks to limit collisions and maximise data throughput.
Each port remembers the IP address of the device connected to it and only transmits future data to that particular device, minimising collisions and maximising data throughput.
The VIPA CM240 switch is suitable for TCP/IP and H1 industrial Ethernet and with speeds of 10/100Mbps (auto sensing, full/half duplex) creates near deterministic networks.
The CM240 is a suitable companion for PLCs, I/O and other devices installed in factory switchboards. It eliminates duplicated wiring runs and provides additional ports for laptop connections on the factory floor.
High temperature rating, DIN-rail mount, and 5-24V dc input via standard terminals makes the CM240 suitable for Ethernet automation tasks.
