VIPA, represented by Automation Warehouse , has released a new micro PLC CPU 114 which is programmed by STEP7 from Siemens.
The new CPU comes standard with a multi point interface (MPI) port for Siemens MPI adapter cable or by using the low cost VIPA green cable.
The MPI port can connect to operator panels simultaneously as programming with a laptop. The MPI port also supports Siemens Global Data communications to up to eight partners.
These partners can be VIPA 100V, 200V, 300V, Siemens S7-300, S7-400 CPUs.
The 114 CPU comes with 16 digital inputs and eight digital outputs at 1 amp, four of the inputs can be utilised as high speed counters at 50kHz or as interrupt inputs.
Two of the digital outputs can be configured as pulse width modulation outputs. The 114 CPU also has a real time clock integrated.
Included is an MMC slot for program backup or storage of complete symbols and comments from STEP7. It uses a standard MMC so that users can read and write to it also via a standard MMC card reader. Any file type can be stored on the MMC in this way - eg: word, excel, access, pdf, CAD, any type at all.
Clients can configure the 114 CPU with existing STEP7 and cables, or can use the VIPA WinPLC7 software supplied for free.
VIPA also supplies the MPI cables which autodetect PPI/MPI/Teleservice environments and allow programming to all VIPA and Siemens S7 CPUs.
