According to Automation Alliance , Leviton Surge Protection Device's are designed to provide transient voltage surge protection for communication lines on PLC Networks such as Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, DH+, Remote I/O, DH485; Modbus & Modbus Plus; GE Fanuc Control Bus as well as 4 - 20 mA Signal Loops.

SPD's protect expensive PLC communication modules against damage due to lightning-induced transients, switching surges and other high levels of electrical interference. All the devices provide low clamping voltages and the ability to withstand high transient current surges that might be encountered in harsh electromagnetic environments or in areas where a high probability exists of encountering the damaging effects of lightning.

Leviton Surge Protection Devices offer dual-redundant protection paths for transients entering the units with automatic reset-PTC fusing, and are backed by Leviton's 5-Year Warranty.

These DIN rail-mounting devices are very easy to install and connect; even to existing networks, and are provided with connectors compatible with the communication ports for the network they are designed to protect. Even though they are Plug-&-Play devices, technical support and application advice is available in Australia from Perth based Automation Alliance.

Us Based Leviton is a Rockwell Encompass partner, ensuring that the SPD's are fully tested for the network they are designed to protect.
