Product/Service Name
Autodesk® Data Management
Function/ApplicationsAutodesk® Data Management
In today's manufacturing environment, accelerating product development cycles is the key to staying ahead of the competition. By efficiently managing valuable design data in key areas such as design reuse, collaboration, and automation of key processes, your company can shorten its development cycles and get your product to market faster.
Autodesk® provides a modular approach to data management that comprises several powerful Autodesk® products – including Autodesk® Productstream™ software, Autodesk® Vault, the Autodesk® Streamline on-demand collaborative project management solution, and Autodesk® DWF™ technology – that enable manufacturers to accelerate product development cycles while avoiding the complications and expense of other solutions.
In addition, the Autodesk® approach to data management includes a worldwide network of service providers and partners focused on manufacturing to help with training, installation and integration.
Differentiating FeaturesAutodesk® Productstream™
Autodesk® Productstream™ software enables you to implement an automated release and change management process with complete tracking of bills of materials (BOMs) and related design information. By connecting engineering design data, created in Autodesk® manufacturing applications, to BOMs managed in Productstream™, companies can help ensure that designs are accurate and consistent before they are released for manufacturing. Autodesk® Productstream™ also integrates with other business systems to improve information transfer and reduce errors associated with manual data entry.
Autodesk® Vault
Autodesk® Vault software is an easy-to-use data management tool integrated with the Autodesk Inventor® product line, Autocad® Mechanical, and Autocad® Electrical software products. It helps design teams track work-in-progress designs and maintain version control in multi-user environments. It also helps workgroups organise and reuse design data by consolidating product information and reducing the need to re-create designs from scratch. Autodesk® Vault helps companies maximise the return on their engineering investment and deliver their products to market on time. Autodesk® Vault can also be upgraded to the Autodesk® Productstream™ application software to help companies automate their release, bill of materials (BOM), and engineering change order (ECO) management processes.
Autodesk® Streamline®
The Autodesk® Streamline® hosted project management environment increases communication with customers and suppliers outside the enterprise. This web-based collaboration service manages access to design data, project versioning, and usage tracking while allowing secure access from anywhere in the world. Autodesk® Streamline® uses DWF™ technology to improve design review collaboration in either 2D or 3D as well as improve access to design information (such as measurement and object properties) as specified by the designer. Management of projects and permissions is simple and is based on users and groups so multiple projects can exist on a single site.
Autodesk® Design Review Manufacturing
Accelerate projects from start to finish with Autodesk® Design Review, the all-digital way to review, mark up, and track changes to 2D and 3D designs without the original creation software. Accurately measure, redline, and annotate DWF™, AutoCAD® DWG, and DXF™ files and communicate changes in the context of the design. Add comments, track status, and drag and drop information of any type—product specifications, change orders, or estimates—combining them into a single file. Then round-trip the DWF file to any Autodesk® design application, overlaying digital mark-ups onto the original CAD file for fast revisions.
