MANY people have unloaded shipping containers to find thousand of dollars of damaged goods. From as little as $15 it is possible to protect cargo from this unnecessary damage. The initial outlay of $15 could potentially save thousands of dollars, says Australian Warehouse Solutions P/L .
Recently a leading Australian brick company discovered dunnage bags were the key to protecting their cargo and eliminating load shifts.
Dunnage bags prevent cargo damage by bracing loads against unwanted movement both laterally and lengthwise. Once inserted, dunnage bags are inflated by compressed air- the resultant expansion wedges the load against other pallets or the outside walls of the container.
