AUSTRALIAN Pump has launched a new range of cast 316 grade heavy duty stainless steel end suction pumps designed specifically for tough mining duties.
Available in bare shaft configuration these heavy duty cast pumps are claimed by Australian Pump to have a huge advantage over pressed and welded stainless pumps in that they are not subject to corrosion in the welded areas.
The new Aussie NCBX series offer flows of up to 4166Lpm with heads of up to 97 metres. Made from cast stainless steel the pumps are available with port sizes of 2" x 2" (50mm x 50mm), 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" (65mm x 65mm), 3" x 3" (80mm x 80mm) and 4" x 4", (100mm x 100mm).
They come with heavy duty cast standard flanges to UNI 2236-PN10.
The new series is suitable for operation with liquids of temperature of up to 120°C and as low as minus 15°C. Maximum operating pressure is rated as 10 bar and the pumps are recommended for maximum ambient temperature operation of 40°C.
"These big cast 316 pumps are ideal for continuous service in the mines or process applications," said Aussie Pump product manager John Whiteley. "They can handle liquids with a specific gravity of 1000kg/m3.
The company intends to launch a range of close-coupled motor pumps using the same cast 316 grade corrosion resistant stainless steel pump bodies, before the end of 2006.
