A NEW 4" cast 316 grade stainless steel food waste pump has been released by Australian Pump Industries .
The big pump offers a unique self-priming capability that makes it particularly suitable for corrosive liquid pumping from pits or collection tanks.
Called the Aussie GMP B4XRA, its standard configuration is bare shaft, enabling it to be powered by a wide range of drive options.
The pump's unique design enables it to handle large flows of up to 2880 litres a minute and spherical solids up to 15mm in diameter.
It has a maximum vertical lift of 44 metres (60psi) and a suction lift of 6.6 metres.
Self-priming in design, the new pump lends itself to applications where automatic pump out from sumps or holding tanks is required. It can be driven hydraulically, by diesel engine, or by long coupled electric motor.
Simple in design, it is easy to service being fitted with a large easily removable front suction plate that enables full access to the pump internals.
Aussie Pump's Fred Fouracre said although the pump had been available for some time in standard cast iron configurations, the company had decided to offer a 316 grade stainless steel version for corrosive liquid applications.
"Thus the pump is suitable for salt water, brine, corrosive chemical and acidic liquids found in food waste."
