Australian Pump Industries has introduced a new heavy duty de-watering trash pump that produces a unique combination of huge flows and high head. The pump, called the Aussie MQ600TD, offers users flows of up to 6,000 litres per minute and heads, i.e. vertical lift, as high as 45 metres.
An additional bonus is the pump’s ability to handle 76mm (3”) solids. That solid handling capacity means that the pump will not choke if pumping solid laden liquids in mine or construction applications.
The pump is powered by a big Deutz four cylinder air cooled diesel engine delivering 60HP at 1900 rpm. A heavy duty shock mounted control panel is included in the kit with all instruments mounted in a water resistant housing.
The heart of the pump is its impeller and volute. Both key components are manufactured from high SG wear resistant cast iron and designed to ensure quick self priming. The big two vane open style impeller is of the ‘non clog’ design and offers optimum efficiency.
Abrasion resistant oil lubricated tungsten carbide seals are standard and provide positive lubrication and maximised seal life.
The pump’s trash pump design includes a large front mounted port, located below the suction inlet that enables quick clean out of the pump where necessary. This ease of serviceability means that the pump bowl can be cleared of debris within minutes without disconnecting pipe work. The discharge elbow, mounted on top of the pump, offers users the flexibility of rotation to a wide range of angles.
The pump includes a big 165 litre fuel tank, built into the steel skid base and the machine comes as standard in a heavy duty trailer for ease of movement on site. The trailer can be reconfigured to a robust skid where necessary.
Australian Pump Industries expect the new machine to be of real interest to the resources sector, the construction market, to local government and to major pump hire companies.
