BUSH fire fighting authorities are gearing up for an early fire season in Queensland and New South Wales with the potential for a repeat of the catastrophic fires of the summer of 2002.
Dry windy conditions and soaring temperatures may see an early beginning to this year's bush fire season on the eastern seaboard, says Australian Pump Industries Pty Ltd .
Farmers and home and industrial property owners in fire hazard areas are being warned to take steps in fire prevention self reliance.
This self reliance depends on having the right equipment available and taking common sense precautions to protect property.
"Swimming pools, dams, ponds or water tanks make very effective water reservoirs for property protection," said Australian Pump Industries' John Whiteley. "Teaming those water resources with reliable high pressure fire pumps can be the difference between losing or saving your home.”
Australian Pump Industries claim that the Aussie Fire Chief, exported to a number of African, European and South East Asian countries, offers features and benefits that makes it the world's finest portable fire pump.
The Aussie Fire Chief comes with a huge 100 psi pressure performance and the ability to pump up to 500 litres per minute.
That big flow at high pressure provides the Chief with the ability to literally "drown" spot fires or to damp down houses and outbuildings fast.
"Fire fighting authorities like the Queensland Fire Authority and the NSW Rural Fire Service understand that speed is vital in fire control," said Mr Whiteley. "Getting the water on to the fire fast is what counts.”
The standard Aussie Fire Chief comes with a range of drives including the 5.5 hp Honda Japanese built industrial engine.
Other drive options include Yanmar diesel and big 6 hp Vanguard industrial petrol engine for increased performance.
Another advantage of the Aussie Fire Chief is its ability to draught water from depths of up to 7.6 metres and to prime fast, first time, every time, according to Australian Pump Industries.
The pump is fitted with a precision ceramic style mechanical seal and a heavy duty balanced matched impeller, which weighs up to two and a half times more than the industry standard.
The impeller is a heavy duty, one piece aluminium construction, with no plastic or rivetted plates.
The Fire Chief is fitted with a 2" flanged inlet that allows easy access for servicing the check valve and allows more water into the pump than smaller 1.1/2" inlet equivalents.
"It isn't magic that provides the Fire Chief with more performance than its competitors," said Mr Whiteley.
"The pump is simply bigger, with extra metal, matched with superb hydraulic design for great flow/pressure combinations.”
All versions of the Aussie Fire Chief come either with heavy duty steel skids and anti-vibration mounts or a full roll over style frame for pump protection.
This provides the user with a reliable base from which to operate the pump and minimises vibration, extending both pump and engine life.
A handy carry handle is supplied for user convenience. With its proven performance, unbeatable reliability and value for money, the Aussie Fire Chief is the choice of major fire fighting authorities and government utilities.
"The Aussie Fire Chief is hundreds of dollars less at a retail level than the industry's lightweights but provides consumers with a product that represents real Aussie value for money," said Mr Whiteley.
