AUSTRALIAN Pump Industries has developed a 30% glass-filled polyester transfer pump capable of handling corrosive liquids with ease.

Pesticides, herbicides and even liquid fertilisers, can be extremely corrosive and some are capable of literally eating aluminium and even cast iron transfer pumps.

The revolutionary pump has its major components injection-moulded from 30% glass-filled polyester. This tough, strong material is able to handle a wide range of highly corrosive liquids including Flexi N.

Australian Pump developed a wide range of seal options to suit specific applications. For example Buna-N seals and elastomers are suitable for handling diesel fuel and oil based substances, including olive oil. Buna will also handle salt water and brine.

EPDM elastomers and seals, also available as a common option on the transfer pumps, will handle virtually all agricultural chemical and some acids.

Viton, another slightly more exotic seal material is also available and enables the pump to handle virtually all chemicals including many acids.

Called the Aussie Smart Pump the new 2" version is powered by a 5.5hp Honda industrial engine producing a maximum flow of 650L/m and, in its high pressure configuration, can achieve heads of up to 32 metres, that is, around 45psi.

The new pumps are compact and can be supplied in an optional galvanised roll frame for ease of movement on and off utes or farm trailers. Alternative Yanmar diesel engine configurations are available as well as bare shaft and electric drive configurations.
