AUSTRALIAN Pump Industries has pioneered a new range of 3" and 4" self-priming centrifugal, zinc-free, bronze pumps that will take flows to almost 3000 litres a minute and offer pressures to 50psi.
"The development of a range of big zinc free bronze pumps is the culmination of two year's of research and development and represents a major investment," said Aussie Pump managing director Warwick Lorenz.
"The best news for users is that the prices will be extremely modest bearing in mind that we have taken the decision to come up with world class products at cost effective prices."
The new pumps will be in the form of close coupled motorpump or in bare shaft configuration. The motorpumps will be close coupled to heavy duty 3-phase electric motors in power categories of up to 20hp and supplied with stainless steel stub shafts and rated to IP55 protection.
In the bare shaft configurations the pumps can be driven either by hydraulic motor, diesel engine, electric motor or even run off a PTO from the main engine of a ship.
The bare shaft versions can be mounted for either long coupled direct drive or alternatively driven by belt with pulleys allowing improved flexibility of pump speed.
"The pumps will all be built to 9001 ISO Quality Standards and it is our plan to have them certified for use onboard commercial and military vessels," said Lorenz.
